Announcing Our Summer 2026 Grant Awards! 

We are pleased to share that during our June 2026 grant cycle, the Marion I. & Henry J. Knott Foundation awarded more than $1 million in grants to organizations across the Archdiocese of Baltimore.  

Through our General Fund Grants, six organizations received a total of $320,000 in support of education and human services. Additionally, through the Foundation’s Strategic Catholic Schools Initiative, two organizations were awarded just under $800,000 in multi-year funding (payable over three years) to strengthen Catholic schools around the archdiocese. Read more about our June 2026 grantees below!  

General Fund Grants

Education: 

Immaculate Heart of Mary School – $80,000 to update the air conditioning system at this Catholic school serving students from PreK3 through 8th grade in Towson.  

Improving Education – $25,000 to help bring this educational support nonprofit’s All Children Ready Initiative to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in northeast Baltimore. The program seeks to increase kindergarten readiness and support K-2 literacy improvements.  

Leveling the Playing Field – $25,000 to support the organization’s Baltimore chapter to provide sports equipment to under-resourced communities and athletic programs.  

The Loyola School – $50,000 to help support this independent, tuition-free Catholic school’s growth and recent addition of a fourth-grade class. This year-round school now serves children age two though the fourth grade.  

Resurrection-St. Paul School – $80,000 to support the purchase of furniture for this Catholic school serving students in PreK3 through eighth grade in Howard County. The new furniture will enhance the school’s learning environment, promote student engagement, and ensure classrooms are better equipped to support academic success.

 

Human Services 

REACH of Washington County – $60,000 to support the delivery of case management and direct support services to individuals and families experiencing housing insecurity in Washington County.  

 

Strategic Grants (Catholic Schools)

Archdiocese of Baltimore – $715,000 (over three years) to support the establishment of a cohesive professional development training program to advance the growth of administrators and classroom leaders. This comprehensive approach to professional development for educators and administrators in the archdiocese is designed to cultivate leadership, increase collaboration, and positively impact schools throughout the Archdiocese of Baltimore.  

Catholic Coalition for Special Education – $84,000 (over three years) to support the growth of the nonprofit’s Pro Bono Technical Assistance and Training Program in Catholic Schools within the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The program serves to strengthen a school’s capacity to serve students with intellectual and developmental disabilities by training administrators and teachers in evidence-based practices for differentiated instruction including through workshops and coaching.
