General Funds

Since our founding, we have awarded more than $70 million in grants to nonprofit organizations throughout the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Today, we award approximately $2.5 million in grants each year across five program areas: arts & humanities, Catholic activities, education, health care, and human services.

Arts & Humanities

In our arts & humanities program area, we support performing arts organizations, visual art, and history museums, as well as instructional art programs. Our founders valued arts for the well-rounded education they bring to humanity and the role they can play in strengthening a community.

Catholic Activities

The Foundation honors the legacy of our founders by supporting organizations and programs that espouse the values and doctrines of the Catholic Church. Through our focus on Catholic activities, we support churches, faith communities, religious orders, retreat houses, and spiritual centers.

Education

Our focus on education encompasses giving to Catholic schools, special needs schools, private colleges and universities, out-of-school-time programs, and other education-related activities. Following in the tradition of our founders, we seek to support both students who are excelling academically and students who have limited access to opportunity. We believe that hard work combined with access to quality education is the foundation from which all people can succeed in life.

Health Care

The Foundation recognizes that accessible, compassionate, and quality health care strengthens communities. Our health care program area aims to support families, caregivers, and communities through a focus on programs that provide curative, preventative, rehabilitative, and palliative care, as well as patient support services.

Human Services

Our focus on human services is guided by our founders' sincere compassion for the poor, the hungry, the sick, and in particular for women, children, and families in crisis. We address numerous areas, from helping to meet people's basic needs, housing and homelessness, adult education, and family and children's services.
